APNU+AFC Abdel Seetaram sent to prison for 18 months

Abdel Seetram, a Region Five APNU+AFC Councillor will be serving the next eighteen months in prison for wounding 54 years old Nateram Rabindranauth.

36 years old Seetaram wounded the elderly man on January 21 last. Seetaram was found guilty on May 30, but sentencing was deferred after a brobation report was requested.

Attroney representing the councilor had asked for a non-custodial sentence.

The AFC Councillor who was fired from his position as representative of Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo in Region 5, assaulted the plantain chip vendor of West Coast Berbice, who happens to be his cousin as well.

The 54 year old man was hospitalized as a result of the beating he received at the hands of Seetaram and his son. The man suffered a broken jaw, fractured nose and internal bleedings.
