Barama employees robbed of valuables

A security guard and three other persons inclusive of two Indonesians were robbed of cash, jewelry and cellphones at Barama Company Compound, Land of Canaan, EBD about 23:45hrs last night.

According to Police, five males, four of whom were armed with handguns; robbed the 54 year-old security guard of the company’s shotgun along with five cartridges and his personal belongings.

Investigations revealed that the bandits first pounced on the security guard who was manning the compound in which the other victims reside and relieved him of the weapon and a cell phone after which they duct-taped his mouth and bound his hands and feet.

The suspects then proceeded to the living quarters of the Indonesians and forced their way into the building via the doors and relieved the occupants of their valuables and escaped. The building allegedly housed the CEO, his fiancée and the Supervisor of the company.

Investigators have since processed the scene, obtained statements and are making stringent efforts to apprehend the suspects.
