ExxonMobil official robbed

The Police are investigating an alleged robbery under arms committed on a 43-year-old Financial Director of ExxonMobil and his 30-year-old spouse which occurred about 02:30hrs this morning, at their Republic Park, East Bank Demerara home.

According to police reports, five males, two of whom were armed with handguns, robbed the family of a quantity of jewelry, several electronic gadgets, documents and other valuables, including a passport.

Investigations also revealed that the male victim upon responding to a sound from the house alarm, was confronted by a male suspect who struck him on his head with an instrument, soon after, the suspect was joined by his accomplices who held the couple including their 10-month-old daughter at gunpoint, ransacked the house and escaped via an eastern glass-door with the valuables.

Police promptly responded and combed the area but the suspects were not seen. The scene has been processed. No arrest made at this time.
