Female prisoners pardoned by Granger

Five female convicts will be celebrating Guyana’s 51 Independence anniversary with their family and friends, courtesy of President David Granger.

The five inmates were granted their freedom by the President under the Presidential Prerogative of Mercy following recommendations by the Director of Prisons.

The recommendations were also reviewed by Attorney General Basil Williams and was granted in accordance with Article 121 of the Constitution of Guyana more particularly Articles 188, 189, and 190.

The five women who were released are Jenny Henry, Neeta Shamlall, Margo Gordon, Cleva France and Neesha Rambarran.
