Georgetown resident busted with unlicensed gun, ammo

Kerwin Amos of  Werk-en-rust, Georgetown will soon have his day in court after he was busted by police ranks with an unlicensed gun and matching rounds on Tuesday night.

The man, who police say is a Welder, was seen acting in a suspicious manner and that caused ranks to intercept him and carry out a search on him when they found one .32 Taraus Pistol with a serial number intact as well as ammunition for same.

He was immediately taken to the Brickdam Police Station where he was told of his offence and in his statement, reportedly admitted that the items were found on him.
He said that he was able to purchase the gun in exchange for one pound of weed from a minibus driver.

The police have since placed the man and his mother in custody after a search at his home found a live round and several grams of cannabis. The police investigations into this matter are ongoing.
