Fire of unknown origin attempted to destroy a business place on King Street, Georgetown around 13:30hrs on Friday.
According to fire service officials at the scene, they received a call about a fire at D.Singh. When the firemen arrived, they observed smoke emanating from the Southern rear side of the building.
They quickly got into position and prevented the building from going up in flames, the fire official noted. However, items were destroyed by flames from inside the buildings, according to representative of the store, damages are suspected some where in the millions.
It was also suggested by the officials that poor ventillation might have been the cause of the fire.
