Man clings to life after hit and run on Highway

A man is on life support machine after he was struck down on the Soesdyke Linden Highway on Tuesday night in the vicinity of Yarrowkabra.

The identity of the man is not yet known and the police are still to find the vehicle.
The detectives have what appears to be part of the registration plate of the vehicle which might have struck the man. The accident took place around 19:45hrs.
The car was proceeding south at the time when the pedestrian was hit.
This news entity understands that the man is of mixed race and appears to be in his 40s’.
It is reported that the driver failed to stop at any point to render assistance. The man was picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where doctors quickly placed him on life support machines and are monitoring his condition.
