A team from MARAD recently visited Charity and conducted inspections on fishing and passenger vessels along the Pomeroon River.

Some deficiencies regarding their vessels were identified, and operators were urged to correct same before recommencing operating on the waterways.

The team was headed by the Director Maritime Safety, John Flores, and accompanying him were, Marine Officers, Devon Boyce and Jerome Benn.

The Guyana Defence Force Coast Guard also accompanied MARAD’s team during the exercise.
