Kelvin Royston Daly received 42 chop wounds about his body, an autopsy found.
Daly of Anns Grove, was found lying along a trail in the Puruni Mining area on Monday morning. The father of 6 was last seen alive on Sunday when he went to work.
According to his relatives, they received a call on Monday morning informing them that he was chopped to death by persons unknown.
There are reports out of the area that Daly was attacked for no apparent reason by four men who unleashed the deadly attack on him.
Speaking with Daily News today, his relatives said that they are not sure of any issues he had with anyone in the area. The man has been working the Puruni area for the past eight months and was expected to travel out if the location one week ago but opted to say a bit longer.
His 22 year old son who was also in the area with him, came out last week citing hardship in the mining area and their inability to make a handsome earning.
The police are said to be investigating the circumstances surrounding the death even as they seek to make arrests.
