Prime suspect in shooting of dog food vendor positively identified

The prime suspect in the shooting of dog food vendor Shane Cooper and for the robbery of two females at Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt on September 24 last, has been positively identified by the victims during an Identification Parade yesterday.

Investigators are compiling the case files for legal advice, before charges are laid. The suspect is a 20 year-old welder of James Street, Albouystown.

According to reports, the incident occurred about 20:40hrs, on the day in question, at the corner of Aubrey Barker and Stevedore, North Ruimveldt. The suspect fled the scene in a waiting motor car.

The injured victim Shane Cooper, age 26 of Jackson Ville, North Ruimveldt, was hospitalized at the G.P.H.C where he underwent emergency surgery for gunshot wounds to the abdomen and left leg. One of the two female victims, was also a dog food vendor.
