Teens in custody for attacking businessman

Two juveniles who were found on a businessman’s premises are in police custody.

According to police, a 17-year-old Labourer of Coldingen, East Coast Demerara, was found on a private premise at Enterprise, ECD, earlier yesterday, he allegedly attacked the owner of the property and was shot to the chest. The owner is a licensed firearm holder.

The teen is presently at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he underwent an emergency surgery. He is said to be in a stable condition.

Also another teen age 16 year-old was found at the businessman’s premises with a donkey cart, they are now assisting police with investigations.

An investigation revealed that the victim who resides at Strathspey, ECD, and also owns the other property where the incident occurred, was alerted that thieves were on his premises. On arrival, he was confronted by one of the suspects who allegedly attacked him with a cutlass, he drew his licensed pistol and shot the juvenile.
