GDF to get four reconditioned planes

State Minister Joseph Harmon noted that the Government will be procuring four reconditioned air crafts for the Guyana Defense Force. The GDF has requested some $484.2 million from Central Government for this project. On Friday, the Minister said that the aircraft will be fixed wings, two islanders and sky-vans.

He noted that the aircraft will serve Guyana because of the conditions in which we live and operate. The GDF has competencies in both types of aircraft, because the GDF has used these types of aircraft for numerous years, Harmon a retired Lt. Col. noted. The Minister informed that these aircraft will be safe for soldiers and civilians when the needs be to transport to and from the hinterland areas.

He also quipped that the aircraft are good factory tested aircraf, t even though they are no longer being manufactured.
