Hire car driver released on bail for raping teen

Tevin Vickerie has been released on bail in the sum of $400,000 after he appeared before Magisstrate, Judy Latchman on Firday in the Georgetown Magistrates Court 3 for raping a 13 year old girl. The 22 year old accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge when it was read to him.

The court heard the, Vickerie between January 1 and 31, at Soesdyke Lindan Highway, he engaged in sexual penetration with a girl who is below the age of consent.

Further, the teen was a passenger in Vickerie’s car when he was supposed to drop the teen off a her home. On the day in question, the mandrove pass the victim’s house and went to the Linden Soesdyke Highway, he stopped at a location and locked the car doors with the teen and himself inside.

He then asked her to have sexual intercourse with him, which she refused. He then forced himself on her and performed the act. He then dropped the teen home. She related what transpired and a report was made.

He will return to court on September 19.
