Town Clerk, Royston King and a team from the Georgetown Mayor and City Council removed vendors along the Alexander Street, Bourda on Friday.

According to King the vendors are extending their activities in Alexander Street to South Road and Croal Street, “we could not allow this they are impeding trafficking, they are creating all kinds of untidiness in this particular area store owners have been complaining about their entrance and exits being blocked,” he said.

King also made it known that vendors are going beyond the three hours that were allocated to then to ply their trade and as susch they are competing with retailers “they are competing with the retailers to whom they are selling and they are in fact undercutting, underselling those retailers,” he informed.
